Flying Cat Music presents Beaucoup Blue this Saturday August 13 at 7:30pm at the Phoenicia Methodist Church.

The father and son group of David and Adrian Mowry are Grand Prize Winners of Billboard World Song Contest. Their music steeped in Americana is influenced by Blues, Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country, and Bluegrass. They have been performing their roots based music nationally and internationally as a duo, quartet and on occasion quintet.

Flying Cat Music is known across the Catskill Mountains for curating the best in Americana, singer-songwriters and bluegrass musicians—a showcase of the finest in contemporary folk.

We are an all volunteer effort dedicated to bringing musicians from across the globe into Phoenicia!

Don't miss this award-winning string duo that redefines the boundaries of musical genre — fusing classical virtuosity with the electricity of a rock band, the spontaneity of a jazz combo, and the beauty of a string quartet.

Graduates of The Juilliard School, their past engagements have included performances at The MET Breuer, Rockwood Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, 92nd Street Y and TED. In collaboration with seven-time Grammy-nominated producer Joel Hamilton, ARKAI’s debut album, Aurora, will be released in 2022.

Join Eric Rosenbush this week from August 7-12 to study the foundations of Tibetan Medicine and KuNye Massage at Menla Retreat and Dewa Spa! Located minutes from Phoenicia, the 30-hour, weeklong course will introduce students to the basic principles of Tibetan Medicine, especially as they apply to the practice of massage and external therapies. In this first level training, we will learn the basic components of how to give a KuNye session.

The practice of KuNye employs a wide variety of techniques. Aromatic herbal oils are prepared, following principles of Tibetan herbalism. These are then selected to balance the elemental condition of the patient.

The actual session consists of stages: first penetrating the oil deeply into the body, followed by deeper massage techniques to open the joints and muscles. KuNye also utilizes a unique system of points and energy channels which also can be used to treat a variety of conditions.
