DESCRIPTION:Trained in classical music and jazz guitar at the Berklee College of Music\, Ernest Troost came to be a folk artist by way of an unusual path\, one that took him through the heart of America’s leading film and television studios. Ernest is a five time Emmy nominee and the winner of that award for Outstanding Music Composition for his work for the miniseries The Canterville Ghost. \nIn 2004 Ernest Troost released his first album as a singer songwriter\, All The Boats Are Gonna Rise\, and in 2009 he won the prestigious Kerrville New Folk competition. He will use his own illustrations for documentation and easy understanding. Topics to include:\n– Hemlock’s arrival in the Catskills about 14000 years ago\n– Five bogs which have lost their hemlocks during the hemlock “crash”\n– Weird and cyclical – new ideas on hemlock ecology\n– Threats such as tanning and the woolly adelgid \nMichael will also introduce the newly published addendum to his book Where Did the Tracks Go in the Catskills?
