SUMMARY:The Black Feathers - Live in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Based in Gloucestershire\, U.K.\, The Black Feathers are a husband and wife duo who play a blend of folk\, roots\, and Americana music. Sian Chandler’s and Ray Hughes’ 2014 debut EP\, Strangers We Meet\, was listed in The Telegraph as one of the best folk albums of 2014\, and their sound has been likened to that of The Civil Wars and Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. Their first full length CD\, Soaked to the Bone\, was released in 2016 to rave reviews\, such as: “Mesmerizing and stunning in equal measure. An artistic triumph for a duo of undeniable talent.” — FATEA \nHaving built up a loyal following in the U.K.\, The Black Feathers have been spreading their wings across the US\, and are garnering rave reviews here such as: “Once in a blue moon\, the whole soars far above the sum of its parts. That’s what happens when The Black Feathers perform live” — Black Mountain News\, North Carolina \nSince coming to America\, The Black Feathers have performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and AmericanaFest\, and have also been awarded official showcases at the North East Regional and Far-West Folk Alliance conferences. To say that they are up and coming\, would be an understatement. \n“Draws you in for a brilliant\, effervescent ride from the moment you press play.” —Maverick \n“Positively sparkles with energy and joy. Magical ballads that would encourage the rowdiest of crowds to fall silent.” —Country Record \nhttps://theblackfeathers.com/ \n$20 in advance $25 at the door

SUMMARY:Cliff Eberhardt with special guest Louise Mosrie Coombe - LIVE
DESCRIPTION:$22 in advance $25 at the door \nSinger-songwriter Cliff Eberhardt grew up in Berwyn\, Pennsylvania\, listening to James Taylor\, Joni Mitchell\, Bruce Springsteen\, Howlin’ Wolf\, Muddy Waters\, and Bonnie Raitt. At the same time\, he poured over the music of great songwriters like Cole Porter\, the Gershwins\, and Rodgers and Hart\, laying the foundation for his extraordinary melodies and clever lyrical twists. \nEberhardt’s career began in 1978 at New York’s Bitter End\, Kenny’s Castaway\, and Folk City where he performed with the likes of John Gorka\, Suzanne Vega\, and Christine Lavin. Later\, he went on the road as guitarist with artists such as Richie Havens and Melanie. From Dar Williams\, Lucy Kaplansky\, and Richard Shindell to Richie Havens\, Shawn Colvin\, Russ Taff\, and Buffy Sainte Marie\, many artists have performed Eberhardt’s songs. With 10 albums under his belt\, Eberhardt is considered one of today’s most respected songwriters\, and is sought after at songwriting camps around the country. \nRecording and touring collaborator Louise Mosrie Coombe grew up on a cattle farm in Tennessee\, riding horses and writing poetry. She began writing songs after college and moved to the Nashville area in 2004 to co-write music with country\, bluegrass and folk artists. \nAs a songwriter\, with a lyrical sense that is intensely personal\, she is being recognized as a new\, vibrant voice of Americana and soulful Southern folk. She has taken top honors at the Kerrville Folk Festival\, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival\, and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival\, and her recording Home was #1 on the Folk DJ charts. \n“Eberhardt sings with passion and with wit…[and brings his] self-assurance and poise to his nearly flawless show.” — The New York Post \n“Eberhardt is better than ever…\, kicking ass with fresh insight and new ways to lament old yearnings” — Philly Rock Guide \n“Louise Mosrie Coombe’s voice is a gift from the gods\, and how she uses it is a gift to us” — Christine Lavin \n“Louise Mosrie may well be the brightest young folk-oriented artist to emerge from Nashville in many a year.” — Rich Warren\, WFMT-FM\, The Midnight Special\, Chicago \nhttps://cliffeberhardt.net \nhttps://louisemosrie.com

SUMMARY:Miss Emily - Live in Concert
DESCRIPTION:$18 in advance $20 at the door \nEmily Fennell’s earliest memories are of the dusty Canadian fairgrounds of Southern Ontario. Accompanied by her parents\, she pursued her love of performing at county fair singing competitions. As an adult singer/songwriter\, her work ethic was honed in Southern Ontario’s juke joints\, bars\, and nightclubs. \nWhen the pandemic made it impossible for the Kingston\, Ontario\, artist to perform in front of audiences\, Miss Emily took material from her live concerts to create the album Live at the Isabel. It was nominated for the 2022 Juno Blues Album of the Year. \nThe Kingston (Ontario) Standard has said of Miss Emily Fennell that she can bring the house down just as well as Janis Joplin could. It’s no wonder that she won Toronto’s Blues Maple Blues Festival’s New Artist of the Year award as well as Female Vocalist of the Year awards in both 2020 and 2022. \nFennell’s naked commitment to the truth has never been more apparent than in her recent studio album\, Defined by Love. It’s a warts-and-all diary of a year filled with confusion and anger\, lost relationships\, and found humanity. As John Kereiff of Hot Wax Album Reviews commented\, “When it comes to soulful singing\, there aren’t many that can hold a candle to Miss Emily. … her soul-drenched gumbo of blues\, old-school R&B\, and jazz reaches right into your chest cavity to give the ol’ ticker a good squeeze.” \n“Do yourself a favour and catch a live show. Quite simply\, WOW.” – Bill Welychka\, Kingston Whig Standard (March 2018) \n“An angelic voice with just a hint of sultry devilishness. This gal is a rocket ready to take off!” – Rob Baker\, The Tragically Hip \nhttps://themissemily.com/

SUMMARY:Garnet Rogers in Concert
DESCRIPTION:GARNET ROGERS IN CONCERT \nSaturday December 3\, 2022\n7:30 Sharp – Doors at 7:00\nUnited Methodist Church\n29 Church Street – Phoenicia\, NY\nTicket Price $23 in advance $25 at the door – online at flyingcatmusic.org \nFor information call\n845-688-4692 \n\n\nHailed by the Boston Globe as a “charismatic performer and singer”\, Garnet is a man with a powerful physical presence – close to six and a half feet tall – with a voice to match. With his “smooth\, dark baritone” (Washington Post) his incredible range\, and thoughtful\, dramatic phrasing\, Garnet is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere. His music\, like the man himself\, is literate\, passionate\, highly sensitive\, and deeply purposeful. Cinematic in detail\, his songs “give expression to the unspoken vocabulary of the heart” (Kitchener Waterloo Record). An optimist at heart\, Garnet sings extraordinary songs about people who are not obvious heroes and of the small victories of the everyday. As memorable as his songs\, his over-the-top humour and lightning-quick wit moves his audience from tears to laughter and back again. \nMore: https://garnetrogers.com/ \n\nPhoto Credit: Bruce Dienes

SUMMARY:AND - by Aynsley Vandenbroucke
DESCRIPTION:Aynsley Vandenbroucke\nAnd \nSaturday\, July 22 8:00 pm / Sunday\, July 23 3:00 pm / Tickets $20 \n“Aynsley Vandenbroucke has been exploring the relation of literary formalism to the human body in a way few writers\, if any\, are doing.” —Hyperallergic \nIn And\, Aynsley Vandenbroucke uses experimental literary devices to create a series of live\, three-dimensional essays. She plays with lines between fact and fiction\, narrative and abstraction\, legibility and complexity. She works with—and against—the role of formal structures in writing\, moving\, and making a life. \nSome words that tussle for prominence in the piece are: art\, life\, teaching\, body\, marriage\, knowing\, divorce\, friendship\, contradiction\, form\, home\, house\, community\, uncertainty\, gentleness\, question\, power\, sex\, dance. \nCalled “gifted” by the New Yorker and “an elegant sensitive thinker” by the New York Times\, Aynsley Vandenbroucke has been making performance in NYC since 2000. She co-founded Mount Tremper Arts and served as co-curator there until 2014. Vandenbroucke teaches at Princeton University and is obsessed with the relationships between reading\, writing\, learning to live\, and making dance. \nPurchase tickets online here\, or call 845-688-9893.

Tremper\, NY 12457 \nWhen should we follow a recipe\, and when should we break the rules? In this live cooking show\, artist Kristin Worrall demonstrates\, prepares\, and serves her audience dessert in real time.
