SUMMARY:The Slambovian Circus of Dreams "Unplugged"
DESCRIPTION:Voted best Hudson Valley band of 2022 by Chronogram Magazine\, Slambovian Circus of Dreams will perform in a rare unplugged trio performance by the acclaimed band’s founding members. Charismatic front man Joziah Longo\, whose vocals have been described as “bewitching\,” will be joined onstage by bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion\, cello\, mandolin\, flute) and the extraordinary guitar-slinging Sharkey McEwen. \nSince the late 90’s in Sleepy Hollow\, New York\, the Slambovian Circus of Dreams\, part rootsy\, part rocking\, part psychedelic\, has been captivating audiences with their unique sound and human-connecting lyrics. With elements of Dylan\, Bowie\, The Incredible String Band and Syd Barrett\, the band blends Woodstock-tinged psychedelia\, a hint of southern rock\, and superb songwriting into their own unique brand of Americana music. Their music has garnered such musician fans as: Garth Hudson (The Band)\, Dar Williams\, Gary Burke (Bob Dylan\, Joe Jackson)\, and Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull). \nThis Hudson Valley band “[takes] the stage by storm\,” according to the New York Times\, and has been described by All Music as “simply one of the finest American bands.” Come hear them play from their deep catalog and from “A Very Unusual Head\,” named one of the “Best Albums of 2022” (Rock’n’Reel Magazine\, U.K.)\, before they go off to appear at festivals throughout the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe. \n“Longo is an awesome songwriter.” – Garth Hudson\, The Band \n“Great songs and a whole lotta heart” — Meg Griffin\, SiriusXM \n“They’re not just a band. That’s like saying the Bible is just a book…” – Fairfield County Weekly \nhttps://slambovia.com/ \n$25 in advance $30 at the door

SUMMARY:Matt Nakoa - Live in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Matt Nakoa is an award-winning songwriter\, singer\, and multi-instrument who was born on a small goat farm near Syracuse\, NY. As a teen\, he traveled throughout the Catskills and Adirondacks performing classical piano. He won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music\, where he discovered his songwriting ability and was selected to collaborate with Grammy winner Kathy Mattea during her residency there. In 2014\, Nakoa won the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk songwriting competition. After Berklee\, he landed in New York City’s vibrant piano bar scene. It was in the Big Apple’s all-night piano bars that Nakoa developed an uncanny ability to command the attention of any audience. He became a star performer at the famous Brandy’s Piano Bar\, with lines waiting outside the door each Saturday night. \nAirPlayDirect has described Nakoa’s music as a blend of swanky mod-rock with a dark classicism\, producing a lyrical and dangerously infectious sound. His energetic vocals evoke Freddie Mercury and Jeff Buckley\, and his soulful yet simple lyrics appeal to the generations. A recent album\, Casting Shadows\, described as a spellbinding blend of pop\, soul\, and classical influences\, tells a story of childhood dreams crashing headlong into a grownup reality. \nFolk luminary Tom Rush\, with whom Nakoa regularly plays when Rush is touring\, calls international artist Nakoa “a black-belt musical wizard\,” adding\, “I’m hoping he’ll let me open for him when he’s doing stadiums.” Rich Warren\, the host of the Midnight Special\, WFMT Chicago\, has these kind words for Matt\, “All I can say is wow! Phenomenal high tenor voice\, outstanding musicianship\, and songs that grab the heart.” \n“…between his piano chops\, charismatic stage presence\, and heartfelt originals on guitar\, [Nakoa} drops jaws.” – Boston Globe \n“Matt Nakoa left us breathless…The music was of a symphonic scale and showstopping\, cosmic proportion.” –Elmore Magazine \nhttps://mattnakoa.com/ \n$20 in advance $23 at the door
