They are all prior winners of the Americana Music Association’s New/Emerging Artist of the Year award. Mary took home that award in 2005. \nThe Associated Press calls Mary Gauthier one of the best songwriters of her generation. Drag Queens in Limousines\, off of Gauthier’s second CD of the same name\, won best Folk/Singer-Songwriter Song at the first Annual Independent Music Awards in 1999. Her third album\, 2002’s Filth and Fire\, was named #1 Best Independent CD of the year by Jon Pareles of the New York Times.  Her 2005 release\, Mercy Now\, was named in the top five records of the decade by No Depression magazine. \nHer most recent release\, Trouble And Love\, was included in  Rolling Stone’s feature “The 26 Albums of 2014 You Probably Didn’t But Really Should Hear\, where they said of it: \n “Every tune is a rough gem of melody\, misery and economy\, as Gauthier excavates romantic wreckage like an archaeologist telling the story of a fossilized love.” \nMary Gauthier put it well when she once said\, “There’s no such thing as going too deep.” \nThe Empire State Railway Museum is located at 70 Lower High Street in Phoenicia\, New York. Tickets are $23  at the door or $20 with an advance RSVP. Show time is 7:30 p.m. and the doors open at 7:00 p.m. This is an intimate venue with seating for approximately 50 guests. \nSeats can be reserved by emailing us at flyingcatmusic@gmail.com or by calling Flying Cat Music at 845-688-9453. RSVPs must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the show in order to confirm seat availability. Advance seats can only be guaranteed until 7:20 p.m.\, so please arrive early to claim them.
