Dave Channon in the Solo Room: View the evolution and intelligent design of Dave Channon’s art. This show spans almost 50 years of drawing, painting, collage and sculpture, from sketchbook pages of a traveling teenager, to the welded steel creatures he makes today. Channon was apprentice to Joseph Cornell at the age of 17 and has collaborated with such masters as Pablo Picasso, Red Grooms, Phillip Guston, Peter Max, Keith Haring, Robert Indiana and Ron English. He worked as a chromiste, producing hand made limited editions of serigraphic prints for the artists. Look for their influences and departures from influence throughout this fascinating show.
